Biography 

Brenda Mwikali Muthui is a young and passionate social change activist with a selfless ambition to help the disadvantaged and oppressed in society, especially women and children. She holds a Master’s in Diplomacy, Development, and International Security and is an LLB holder. I am a Human Rights Lawyer with a keen interest in Key and Affected Populations in Kenya, through policy change, Advocacy, and public interest litigation. She has 6 years’ progressive experience in international humanitarian law, she has worked with various non-governmental organizations such as Nephak and Kelin among others, where she has led various programs in training PLHIV on their human rights, as protected by the human rights charter, she has also participated in community dialogues and peace building initiatives that exposed her to the various social and economic issues affecting women in IDP camps and in the rural areas. She has further engaged with NASCOP to come up with their strategic framework for the year 2018/2020 where she represented the legal health plights of PLHIV.

  • Development of a human rights-centered legislative guide on best practices on the use of EHealth technologies and data in Kenya
  • Conducted a comprehensive study on access to sexual reproductive health rights during the covid 19 pandemic in Kenya, for NASCOP

  • Developing and leading the corporate legal strategy
  • Conduct human rights training for the key and affected population in conjunction with HIV/AIDS tribunal
  • Analyse Laws, Bills, Policies, and operational frameworks concerning human rights and with specifications to the sexual reproductive health
